The scenic beauty of the mighty Brahmaputra (meaning: The Son of the Creator God) river flows just behind my residence but it catches my attention only when it overflows with turbulence or when some unusual event happens on its bank. Even though volumes of water flow daily with multitudes of creatures in it, sustaining the livelihood of countless who live on its banks, it is often very quiet and unnoticeable in my backyard.
Yes, our attentions are drawn by events, programs, conferences, and big bang type of activities in our ministries. We see a significant happening and we cry Praise the Lord! We are often drawn to God’s beauty in His miracle, in the display of His power, and the supernatural events. But the mighty God of the Bible is Emmanuel. He is always there with us—in the quietness and even when things around us are insignificant and unnoticeable. We need to pause and enjoy His beauty in the daily mundane of our life.
